 My client, a well established food business is experiencing massive growth and is seeking to recruit a Quality Control Leader.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
Key focus on product quality & safety and the optimisation of the production process.
  • To standardise all structures, work, training, procedures & records in line with the Factory Management System
  • To ensure all customers, third party auditor and external body requirements are incorporated fully into standardised work.
  • To teach the standards set to all team members.
  • To understand the customer and consumer needs.
  • To help guarantee the safety of all team members through the continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • To minimise product variability and maximise product safety through the application of statistical analysis to key process within the value stream.
  • To drive continuous improvement on raw materials.
  • To ensure new processes are planned, implemented and reviewed so as to be seamlessly integrated into current processes.
  • To work with the NPD & other team Teams to develop, cost, trial, launch and review new products.
  • Own the HACCP plan and ensure all team members are fully aware of their responsibilities for production of safe food.
  • To manage all aspects of the value stream to meet and exceed best practice in the food industry
  • To monitor and ensure the execution of weekend work schedules when rostered.
  • To track & respond to customer complaints and strive to minimise complaints.        
Requirements 
  • Diploma or higher in a Food Science related subject.
  • Willingness to develop others by sharing professional knowledge and experience.
  • Willingness to take responsibility, adapt the role of a leader and to give clear guidance to others.
  • Ability to adapt oneself to different situations or people.
  • Preparedness to follow procedures strictly and to make sure that all other staff members do so in order to reach highest standards of quality and safety.
  • 1-2 years experience is desired.
  • Experience of designing, implementing, monitoring and improving quality controls.
  • An understanding of the principles and tools of lean manufacture.
Salary  Circa 30K DOE (plus shift allowance).
