BUYER – NON FOOD

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a highly commercial buying office environment for one of Ireland’s leading businesses. Experience of buying across Grocery Non Food (Health and Beauty or Household), Non food (General merchandise), Entertainments (news and mags, books or DVD / CD /Games is preferred.

Role Responsibilities:

• Trade the category to make changes to  the offer depending on sales and  profit performance
• Continually review category performance to improve the customer offer and reduce costs
• Support delivery of the customer plan
• Leverage existing suppliers and negotiate with them
• Continually drive down costs and challenge suppliers with market/customer knowledge
• Deliver the budgeted sales and margin and achieve company price strategy
• Challenge data integrity so that margin is accurately reported and delivered and stock is correctly valued
• Challenge the buying team to find new sources
• Reviewing ranges across my buying area and visit the stores

Key Experience and Skills Required:

• 2-3 years of extensive Buying experience within a multi site retail consumer business
• Diploma or Degree in Business or any relevant field
• Ability to effect change and lead the team to achieve a new vision and goal
• Strategic thinking with ability to analyse, develop pragmatic strategies, set vision and direction
• Proven understanding of global supply chain processes
