 Field Sales Representative         

Location: Midlands

The Company:

Our client is an FMCG and foodservice global business.

The Role:

Using a combination of face-to-face selling, customer relationship management and ingredient demonstrations to exploit new and established customers and grow the business. Along with this, the ability to sample ingredients and present relevant concepts in order to generate interest and sales within all customer channels is desirable.

Role Responsibilities:

Maximise sales of ingredients to ensure achievement of divisional and personal targets by:

  • Ensure accounts are serviced and maintained to the required standards in order to achieve the required growth objectives
  • Ensure all designated operator accounts are called in line with the company call strategy
  • Able to demonstrate and sample our range of products to all relevant customers
  • Maintain liaison with Distributive, Marketing and Operator Chain Account  Management Teams, reporting any information relating to trade/customer  activity that could affect the business and also being responsible for implementing any tailored activity agreed by said teams
  • Utilise the internal sales reporting system  in order to provide quick and accurate information relating to customers, orders and personal activities, which must be communicated to the head office on a daily basis
  • Completing all relevant documentation and return within set time lines as required by the business
  • Attend all Regional Sales Meetings to deliver the following:
    • Reports on individual performance
    • Share successes and development areas with colleagues
    • Action new drive brand/campaigns as dictated by Marketing & Distributive/Operator Chain Account teams

Key Experience and Skills Required:

  • 3rd Level Education preferable
  • 3-4 years experience in foodservice
  • Demonstrate experience within a customer focused environment
  • Chef qualification desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of all areas of the catering market,  including foodservice trends, the latest culinary techniques and a strong passion for the catering industry
  • Strong Selling Skills:
    • Excellent Questioning and Listening Skills
    • The ability to handle rejections
    • Have the confidence to handle blocks and objections
    • The ability to think on your feet
  • The ability to negotiate customer deals and at times in conjunction with Distributive Account and Wholesale Partners
  • Good communication and 'people skills'
  • The ability to identify ongoing customer needs
  • Demonstrate experience within a customer focused environment
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships
  • IT Literate in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

Salary NEG depending on experience plus package available.

Location is midlands – Mullingar up to border counties – please note candidate must be living in the outlined territory have worked in sales in foodservice sector in this area.
